The idea for Raw Sugar Couture came to me when I lived in New York. There was style all around me. Not the kind that comes with a crazy price tag but, girls who knew themselves and what they wanted. Yet still remained sweet & sexy. That's what this line is about. I began laying out some ideas after the daily runway shows on the subway. I didn't have a lot of money, so going to expensive fabric stores wasn't an option. I've always loved vintage & thrift shops. They have great clothes from the 60's to 80's. So I started cutting up old pieces to serve as the backdrop for my accessories. A couple of weeks later a woman bought a headband straight off my head. I knew then this could be something sweet...
